An add on domain will show up like a subdomain. But it will act differently and have added features that the subdomain does not.

For instance. Lets say you created a add-on domain named- sitetwo.com
In your public_html folder it will appear as a folder sitetwo

To publish to that new domain you would add sitetwo to public_html like
this: public_html/sitetwo
