You may purchase a dedicated ip and SSL with your account, its not included with most traditional hosting.

There are some out there offering a shared SSL, but you also arent getting the space, limited addons and very limited email.

SSL really isnt protection. SSL is for conveying info between two servers in which the data has been encrypted. The hosting provides a firewall etc which is sufficient for most defenses, and you changing your passwords regularly etc, maintains the rest.
