Re: Keywords for your website | |
I recently attended a seminar on search engine optimization...the speaker was Dan Belhassen (greatBIGnews,Winnipeg, MB)...he said that Google and other big search engines no longer search meta tags as a result of the porn industry's abuse of them...he said that keywords and key phrases are more important to the search (although I don't know exactly where exactly these would be located aside from the general text)...he also added that Titles, Alt tags, file names, Domain names, Text headers--are all searched and contribute to Google's overall ranking of a site....
In addition, he said that Google reads the website everytime it is updated, and if it is updated a lot, it will move up in ranking....also, the more links or hits there are to a website, the more it will move up in ranking....
Being that my own website is for a novel that is not yet published, I was unable to do a keyword search for it. . . but then, quite recently, I did a keyword search in Yahoo, and much to my surprise, it came up in relation to the Blue Voda Website review page!!! Have no idea why!
Hope this is of some help!
