Thread: need help with music

please accept my apologies if this is on here twice - my on line went off -my question is - how do i load part of a song instead of the entire song on my page? i have been reading the posts where this is suggested but dont have a clue how to do it - i have off buttons but would like to limit loading time. any help is appreciated greatly. ann

You will probably need a music editor program.
I use one that I found locally at Office Depot.
I will import the song into the program, edit it down,
save it, then export it to a file as an mp3.
The nice thing about an editor is you have fader controls
so you can fade in or out so you have a smoother sound.

thank you brad - that is just what i need - the page doesn't need the whole song - just the flavor of it

I see the player on your map, but I could not get it
to play anything. Is it linked to a mp3, wav or other?

Does the link have complete url with file extention?

Audacity is an excellent free program for playin' around with music files.

Brad - the player on the map plays Al Hirt's Gotta Travel On - it usually comes on soon after the page loads - the player is to turn it off -what browser are you using that it doesnt come on? ann

The song doesnt play for me in IE6 or Firefox.

just used audacity to cut the music from 3400 to 460 it now fades in then out just a short clip - no more off/obn button - hope it works - takes a couple seconds to hear it if it works i'm changing all my songs to just clips - save on loading time and hopefully activex pop ups let me know please ann

should I have left the on/off button anyway? ann
