Thread: An image gallery

Hi guys,

I know there is a function for an image gallery, but what I actually want, I dont think it provides. I want to be able to click on a thumbnail and the image open in the position I specify, on the same page.

I have created a website template which I have allocated a space on the page where I want the image to show..

Maybe its something I have to do via flash? If so does anyone know any tutorial websites?

Teri - that usually is an image that is already on that place in the page - you click on the thumbnail and it goes down to the larger image lower in the page. If this is what you want to do - yes, you can do it - with html. But I don't know how you'd do it to an empty space on the page -

If not place an iframe in the place you want the image to show & link the image+more to that iframe.

Chris, that's still already having the larger image on the page - I thought she meant she doesn't want it to display until after they click on it.

Hi guys, and thanks for answering.
I do want to display some thumbnails on the same page.

I was thinking about an iframe, could I use like an image map on the thumbnails, then link them to the frame like that?

Hi, you could use the image map? But not sure why you would want to use an image map on a thumb nail. You can link straight from the thumb nail to have a larger image open in the Ifram if you want. There is a similar example on this page http://www.thatgoodsite.com/pics.html This one just happens to be from another iframe.

I saw this post and this is something I want to do as well. I know I have to use an I-Frame, but that's about the extent of my knowledge. This is my first attempt at this so I need really dumbed-down instructions! lol

Hey Everybody.... I was cruzin' through BV Forum and came across this here discussion... thanks for all the neato insights... And I always resize my pictures to their desired web site size with Adobe Photoshop..( web preview tab/section ) then save... thanks again.... Dug
