Thread: Need to add pdf so it opens in a seperate window

I have just about finished my new site, which is really an extension of my other site, but more on the book itself. What I want to do is give people the option to read a couple of chapters. I have a pdf download on my main site,that when opened through the link you have to press the back button to get back to the site. My question is ..Is it possible to have the pdf open in a seperate window while staying on the page you clicked on it from.

I will look into that Chris, apart from adding the other pdf I have not tried another method. I am still a baby when it comes to web building, so usually when I ask something it is the first time I have tried anything like it.

Hi, the only thing I am not sure about having not used pdf. Can you make a pdf’ slightly narrower to fit a smaller popup ? it may look a little better on the screen if the pop up was 600/700 wide, but with no side scroll. Not sure if this can be done.

yes, there is... what u can do is include the target attribute to your hyperlink reference.

e.g. <a href="chapterX.pdf"n href="@@@@@">Text</a>
where the target can either be:
_blank (opens in new window)
_self (opens in itself)
... etc.
