    Default Hypertext Styling

I am probably missing the obvious... I am interested in a hypertext that is not blue and is not underlined. I have tried setting up a style on the Hyperlink Style Sheet that modifies the default settings, but after the style is saved and saved to the textlink, the text is remains blue and underlined. Any thoughts?

You will always see that on the BV page - but the style you selected will be what you'll see on the web when you publish the page.

Hmmm... it didn't work. Any other suggestions?

Can you give us the page to look at? We can't help otherwise.

Oops... sorry. Here is a link to the only page I've hyperlinked the text: www.gptdental.com/about_us.html (gptdental home... upper right corner)

OK, when you highlight the text and go into the box - where have you chosen the style for this link?

If all links on the page will be the same, then you need to go into the page properties and select what color you want links on the page to be. If you will have different styles, they you can make styles right there when you highlight the text and click on the navigation link.

Make sure that you are also chosing the correct style number. If you create a style and don't choose it, it will not automatically show up. Ask me how I know... LOL

    Here is what I did...
    • Highlighted the text.
    • Opened the navigation link.
    • Clicked on the Edit Styles button.
    • Clicked the Add button.
    • Made a name for the new style.
    • Formatted the linked, visited link, active link and hover link styles, then clicked OK.
    • Highlighted the new style, then clicked OK.
    • Clicked OK to close the navigation window.
I think I did everything right. Is the page formatting overriding the hypertext styling?

The page formatting shouldn't override the hypertext.... I think.

It looks like you are doing everything correct. Publish the page and all should be okay. If you view your page and not publish it you will still see the blue links.

Let us know if you are still having a problem.

Go back and look at the name you gave this style. I think that may be the problem. Do NOT use ANY spaces in the name and try again.

Thanks, Bethers.... that fixed the problem. I would have never guessed that since the default style (Style 1) uses a space in the name).

Yep, it's the little things that get us - specially the not obvious ones like that - and since I did the same, I remember it :)
