Thread: how to set up automatic e-book download on site???

Hi everyone,
I am wondering where can I find information and some guidance about following:
I wish to sell e-book (pdf file) on my site and would like to have it work automatically:
- if people decide to buy it,
-they pay for it online from my site
- as soon as payment is received - they get access to e-book!
How do I create it on my site?

You'll have to set something up with PayPal or talk to Navaldesign for some kind of code for this process.

I think it should be simple. Basically your ebook is a file. I would set the file name and extension on the action which paypal does upon a successful payment, and I think the save window would open and the file be saved.

If that does not work, my next step would be to set up a static page with a link for the file to be downloaded. This would work better in your thankyou.page, which is the page the client sees upon paying. Here you can say thanks, etc., and then they can proceed with the downloading of the file easily. I wrote and ebook and I set up my pages that way, the last method I mention here. Hope it helps.
