Thread: movie assistance

I have tried to update the movie on my home page.
I changed the old movie to the new one,
saved the page,
published it,
said successful,and yet nothing has changed.
I checked the html properties it containes the updated movie.
On my web page the old one still plays,
I have cleared all cookies
removed the old movie from temp files,still plays.
went to cpanel deleted html file...still plays.
Removed the move all together replaced it with a banner and some light boxes.......
and yet the OLD MOVIE STILL PLAYS!!!!!!
Please help before I pull my hair out!!!!!!!!!!

well its difficult for us as we do not know which is the right movie. i went to your site and a movie plays "dear up close" now is that your old movie or new one. if its your new one then it is working and it has to do with your temp files, but if this is your old movie, then the only thing i can say is that your new movie may not be uploaded properly. I would check my file manager in the cpanel to see if it uploaded. just let us know which movie is playing.

Well seeing I have been having so much trouble, I have removed the movie alltogether and the page is now made up of my logo, site buttons, a banner with 3 pictures, and still no changes have been made to the page.

In regardes to the movie its self they are the same except I replaced the picture of profile portrait (Heather) with a picture of Maryline Monroe. I was also able to remove and add the same pic in my artwork page with no problems at all????????

are you certain as to where you are publishing to? You are not publishing to the wrong domain by chance are you? Do you have more than one domain?

Nope I only have one. it really has nowhere else to go but there.
I didn't change any settings, awitched movies, saved, and published. and I made a switch on my artwork page in the same steps, and the change was done right after I published it. How would I remove the whole main page in c panel and start fresh??????

Hi Misse

Yes you can do this .. it is best to go inside of your control panel, file manager and into public_html directory and find the files that you want to remove ..

You should look for your video - delete it

index.html - delete it ...

These will be safely saved in your recycle bin in case you wanted to retrieve them, but after you delete, check your domain and see if your index.html is gone .. you should see page cannot be shown notice ..

If you do, then that means the page is gone ...

Then, publish up your new index page and have a look ..

One more question.......On my old page I had a grey box with wmp placed on top of it......

I have changed that. Now there is only WMP no grey box....

If you go to my page now, the movie no longer plays. (I removed that in cpanel) but the grey box with wmp is still there....

I THINK THAT MEANS?????? The problem isn't with the movie but with the uploading of the page?

P.S.
Everything works fine in preview, and always says it has been published successfuly and yet no changes have been made

What could this mean to you???????

I belive the problem could be at the user end ((((ME))))):) but I don't know what else to do, for what seems to be an easy task :)

Hi lady eye ....... me again!

I followed your idea in cpanel ....I removed the page......Main page gone.....shows list of index, and I republished.....and I still have the list of index page???????? What does that mean?????

Okay ...

looks like your index.html has been removed .. this is good ...

Now, create a page .. put anything on it you want ..

Just even type onto it test ..

name, save and publish this as index

then we will see if this page shows .. okay ..

then we will figure out the rest ...

all small letters, no capitals, just index
