    Default Guestbook confusion

I guess this is the right place, but if not, please excuse.

I tried, a while ago, to include a guestbook page on my site, but got totally messed up, so got rid of it.

I've tried again today to publish the page, and all looks okay until when navigating the site I get a "500 internal server" error.

Does this possibly have anything to do with FTP - when I tried to create a folder on the right hand page to put the guestbook file in nothing happened. I clicked "new folder", but no new folder appeared, so I dragged the page across, but still nothing happened.

If someone would be kind enough to take a look and offer some advice I'd be very grateful.

    Many thanks

    Lee

I dont know how you have done it, but all I do when creating a guest book is to publish it and everything else is automatic.

When there no message stored then you will always get a message until you write and send the first entry................

    David,

I think I know what you mean, but the guestbook page doesn't open, so I can't put a message on it.

I can't even open it typing in it's URFL in the address bar.

I've obviously done somethng wrong - and it's prob'ly staring me in the face, but I can't find the glitch.

    Time for another G&T.

    try again after your G&T..........

create a new guest book on a blank page
make any changes in the properties that you wish
click on the advanced button and check that everything looks good
publish..........put the url of the page in your browser address bar and
    add a test message.......and BINGO................lol

    hasta naranja..................

go into your ftp or file manager and see if these 2 files are on your website

    guestbook.php
    guestbookdb.php

Perhaps you saved the page as html.....................?¿

Nah...can't find 'em anywhere. Think I'll go to bed and try again tomorrow.

On another subject entirely David, there's not a 50 footer in your marina by the name of "Dreamaway" by any chance is there?
Some old friends of ours who used to be in Fuengirola moved to the isands somewhere and we lost touch. A long shot I know, but thought I'd ask.

    Nighty night
