    Default Backgrounds

When adding backgrounds (even those sample backgrounds dl'd from VB) via Page Properties, the image spills over the right border of the page.

What needs to be done here?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

All background will cover the entire area on your screen.

To limit the background you can use the shape tool by sizing the shape
to the size of your webpage you are designing.

The background is supposed to spill over the border.. it will cover the entire screen. Thats what a background is supposed to do.

if your looking for a background to fill the page then you must make the width the full size of your settings for resolution. lets say you make the width 1024 because you have your screen settings at 1024, then the background will fill your screen properly, but if some one has the settings at 1152 or 1280 then your background picture will be smaller than the screen for these visitors and they will see white on either side of your background. if a visitor has his settings at 800 wide then you will force that visitor to scroll left to right to see your entire background. so if you want to have a picture for a background, you probably could choose 950 to 1000 pixels wide and use a solid color behind your picture. to be perfectly safe for no scrolling by anyone you should make that picture 800 pixels wide. most of the people i work with choose the 950 to 1000 pixels wide. here are a couple of examples to show how you put the picture onto a solid color background.
