Thread: stop/play button for flash..

is it possible to have a stop play button on a flash object using blue voda?

I have a flash clip playing on my new website:
www.replayyourday.co.uk

I´d like to put a stop play button on it... is this possible? or do i need to get hold of a bit of code for it or something?

the play button and stop button are something that is built into the the flash at souce. depending on the software you used to make the object.

if your meaning this file wedding-video-clip4.swf then this can be added to a flash player giving a lot of options you can see a few different types HERE click the click for more details link in the center to see a range of players.

Am i right in that you´re offering to add elements to websites or files for a fee? Thats great, but I´m trying to learn how to do all this for myself...
I guess the answer is that there is no way of adding a stop play element to a swf file without becoming good at (and buying) flash itself, right?

Guess I´m gonna have to keep looking, I can´t afford to pay adobe 500 bucks at the moment!

Our website design team offerS many resources, but we also offer a lot of help here on vodahost and on our own support boards. yes adding a player to your swf movie would cost around $20. but also we can say that there are programs out there that would do this for you too, but you would have to buy the whole program. it's really a question of weighing up the options, cost / usage / needs.

Finally managed it!
I found a great piece of free software that´ll convert video to flv including a nice little play/stop button tool bar which is customisable too.
You then upload the file to your website, and copy and paste some code into an html section of your site.

All works a treat now, thanks for all the advice, just wanted to share with y'all how it can be done!
