Thread: zoom size of Internel Explorer

In trying to design my pages for IE and FF, I notice that IE is always automatically at 116% zoom, whereas FF is at 100%. Is that standard for everyone or is it only a quirk of my computer that IE shows itself at 116% zoom?

Thats a setting you most likely have chosen for your computer.

I didn't do anything consciously to make it 116%, it has just always been that way. Does that mean that on your computer IE starts at 100%? If so, should I design my pages for 100% on IE?

That means you should design your site for the way the majority of your viewers would see it.. not necessarily your screen resolution on your own computer.

Yes.

I dont know what browser version you are using but on IE 8.. page, zoom, mine is set to 100% .. and.. i dont remember where to find this setting on older versions at the moment.. but youve set yours to larger for whatever reason either via explorer or your monitor dpi settings.

I'm using IE8 (I think). I just tried verifying that but nowhere I looked under properties for IE told me what version it is. Sorry to bother you. Thanks for your help.
