Thread: Text shows up as a rectangle when prviewing

Hello Guys,

I tried to build a page: opened it with "new page", opened "table", put an image on the table and finally
put one word on this image in white. So far so good, but when I previewed my design the white text turned into a white rectangle.
What did I do wrong? I am sure one of you will be able to help me.

It could be one of so many things, this is why we would need the page on the web so we can see.

Problem #2: I cannot publish the pages. Message: The request to connect and log on to the FTP server could not be completed because the supplied password is incorrect. ??????? I use the password I got from Vodahost in the welcome letter.
So I am really stuck now. Also I cannot save my page anymore.
Can anybody help me?

Check your using the correct IP address & password. Also check you have given BV permissions with which ever security you are using.

Hi Chris, Problem 2 is solved. I didn't change the folder to public_html. So now the site is published. At least the home page (www.leerspaans.info) and the top of the page www.leerspaans.info/prijzen.html As you can see in this "prijzen" page there is a white rectangle instead of the word "prijzen".
Any idea what I can do to solve this problem?

Hi, one of two things. Either the background has been set to the same colour as the font? Or 2! the font is not web friendly.
Possibly try using the logo maker for the text.

Please look at my homepage: www.leerspaans.info .
All the text lines have a white background except for the first text line (Leer Spaans op een andere manier). I cannot figure out why this one line doesn't have the white background. Please tell me how I can avoid these white background lines.

Hi .. you have done what chris has already mentioned above, and that is you have applied a background color to your font .. this can easily happen since the background color for the font is directly next to the font icon .. so you will need to hit the square, the font background and choose to reset the color .. sometimes this works without having to retype your text again, sometimes it doesn't..
