Just make a button and then add a link to it to the pdf file. right click on the image and add the link in the image properties.

You have to upload the pdf file to your public_html folder then link to it. Go into your control panel/file manager and click the upload icon (after everything loads) browse for your file and click ok. Take note to make sure you have a simple file name for the file, no spaces in the name before you upload. Then your link would look like http://www.yoursite.com/filename.pdf

    Thanks D'son

Still a bit foggy though. The file is in documents at the moment, I changed the name as you suggested to something simple and no spaces. Go to control panel and can not find any upload icon. Any additional help please.

    Thank you.

No.. you embed it in an html box on a bv page..
    http://www.vodahost.com/vodatalk/blu...r-webpage.html

This will have your page show up as the pdf.

what you are trying to do is very simple. upload you pdf file to your server. you can do this either using your ftp manager tool in tools or you can go to your control panel as suggested above. you upload the file, let's call it
    file.pdf
    or
    file.doc
now you create a link on the page desired, you can use a text or image link, and the link will look like this:
    www.yourwebsitename.com/file.pdf

    an example of this is
    http://www.videopostcards.info/making_a_sound_file.html

the banner "click here" is the link to the pdf file

Once in your control panel click file manager, then you will see the upload icon.

When you upload and use the file manager.. make sure you FIRST navigate to the public html folder. If you upload it ANYWHERE else it wont work.. you have to be in the part of your account for web display.

lol ... though ... you can't make a pdf from your blue voda page ..

what you will need to do is create a word document of what you want converted to a pdf .. you can then convert this word document into a pdf and do as all mention above to get onto your server ..

a free pdf converter can be found at www.primopdf.com

alternatively - you could take a screenshot of your webpage, add the image you take into a word document, convert to a pdf and this would save you the trouble of makingthe word document to begin with ..

Thank you for the PDF, I am very curious to know how did it?
It highlights a problem I have that the width of the index page is narrower than the paper.
Am I correct in thinking the easy way out is to make the pics bigger thus making a wider index page.

OK now we are getting somewhere.
I have just used a programme called snagit and it can capture the whole sheet and save it as a pdf over two sheets.
I now see that I have to make my index page wider on the website.
Thanks to all that have helped.

Are you hosting with VodaHost or somewhere else? BV can only be used with VH and we only give answers as to how to publish to it.

Yes I am hosting with Vodahost. I am right you are talking about the control panel on my computer and not a control panel on Bluevoda ?

Finally found the answer in an outside help desk. I guess the reason why the tips on here didn't work is because I am running Vista and it does not have the controlpanel/filemanager. So for those having problems like me here is what I found and it worked immediately.

For those who use Windows Vista, and don't know how to copy a file, click the Start menu (the Windows icon at the bottom left corner of your monitor), and then the "Computer" item in the menu that appears. Navigate to the place where you saved your PDF file. (It's not possible for me to tell you where you saved it, since I cannot read your mind. Chances are that it's somewhere in your "Documents" folder or your Desktop. Just click around till you find it, but start with the "Documents" and "Desktop" folders first since it's more likely to be there.)
Once you've located the file, right-click on the filename (that is, click the right mouse button instead of the left while your mouse cursor is over the filename), and in the menu that appears, click the "Copy" item.
Now using the same "Computer" window, navigate to the folder where you keep your website's files. By default, Bluevoda saves the files in a folder in your Documents directory. Once you locate the folder, you should be able to see the existing files (like "index.html") that you have created for your site there. Right click a blank space in the folder window, and in the menu that appears, click the "Paste" item. Your PDF file should now appear in the window.

OK after doing this make a button on your webpage that you want to be the downlaod button for the pdf file. Highlight the button go to add hyperlink , this hyperlink window shows http as default go in to that drop down box and select file, this will show the pdf you just uploaded, click on it click OK and VOILA your button links to the pdf file.

    Hope this helps Vists users.

I've uploaded my pdf to my public_html and I can see it when I log on to my Control Panel. When it's uploaded, does it automatically create a page dedicated to that pdf file?

No it will not create a page for you, you upload it to your public_html folder (same as you publish too) then it will appear as any other page (file) except it will have a .pdf extension. So if you named your pdf file, instructions (for example) your link would be like this
    http://www.yoursite.com/instructions.pdf

Maybe that's doing a bit too much....i don't know. I created a separate page on BlueVoda named 'save20000onpurchaseofnexthome.bvp'. On that page, I used the Insert/Advanced/File Publisher command to post the file on the page.

I changed the file name to freereport.pdf and changed the page name to freereport.bvp. The error still comes up in Adobe Reader when I try to open it.

Remove the extensions from your file and page names these are added automatically for you (.bvp by BlueVoda and .pdf by the program you used to create it) once you do, resave the file and upoad it again. Be sure to remove the other versions from your public_html folder so you will not get them confused.

When you created the pdf file there was an error, try recreating it and republishing it. When the pop up window asks if you want to overwrite the exisisting file click yes.
