Thread: Anyone know what this is called or how i can get something similar

Hey Guys,

Im trying to make my website look a bit more flash and appealing but im also trying to make life a bit easier for me with the constant updates im doing

Have any of you seen this on Cnet's website The image box in the middle of the page with the picture of what there talking about and a short description of what it is and it changes between the different options they have

Does anyone know if this is a javascript or something? How can i get something similar? I dont know script

Im using wordpress as the news section of my website http://techinfo-4u.com/wpnews at the moment and i have a feed going from that displaying on my homepage. Ideally i'd love to have those feeds appearing in the image rotating box i mentioned above or something similar.

I know this is a big ask but i cant seem to find out how i can do something similar on my site - preferably for free and not having a big deal of javascript engineering

ok its not free and it doesent quite have the same look and feel to it but i used http://www.verticalmoon.com/products/swfnslide/ take a look !

sadly most things that are any good usually cost u if u wnt to look for sumthing else just goolge for slideshow or slideshow maker or program etc

see this example of my slideshow http://www.e-promenade.de/display/display.html its completely simple once u know what u want it to do it will save it as flash file but u dont need to know flash to do it !

then just add a flash object to ur website an load the correct file!

You can get free slideshows in BV or you can try dynamicdrive.com They arent FLASH but they still do some pretty awesome things.

i seem to be able to do almost everything with it when i use the advanced editor for the themes, which is simple to use

Only thing is this annoying advert for it at the end of every slideshow but i think once im happy with what i have ill purchase to remove it

you have on every computer moviemaker. and all you have to do is bring the still pictures to the time line and and then animate the picture - right to left or top to bottom. you can add music or narrate as the pictures are playing. my favorite, which i did for my daughter's 5th anniversary is:
