Thread: Making objects move

How can I make objects such as text or images/buttons move upon either site load or when something is clicked. For instance, I want a home page where when you click a link, the icon will move in some way and then load to the next page. Also, is there a way to time it out so multiple things move but at different times? I assume that these are possibly flash effects? Do they require special software to create?
