I had another thread going and finally got my problem solved with that one. Now I have a different one concerning adding HTML code in a text page. I read the tutorial a bunch of times but it seems to stop explaining the procedure before telling me how to insert the code.
I use several other websites and it's very easy to do it with them, but this one has me stumped, which really isn't hard to do.
I put the code in the HTML box like it says but what do you do with it at that point?
It also mentioned dragging and dropping. Is it the box that you do that with or what?
What I'm working on is a webpage at http://www.profitinforeclosures.com/...osureinfo.html where I want to insert several ads in the text between paragraphs. I'm bringing the code over form Commission Junction.
Please give me the simple solution for this.

Basically, once you have pasted your CJ HTML link code ionto the BV HTML box, you can move or "position" that box to wherever you want it to be, as long as you understand that it is the code itself that creates the banner image and not the BV HTML box outlines: for instance, if your HTML box is 100x100 pixels and you psted code for a 468x60 banner, the banner will display as it should and probably be on top of other elements on your website.

Keep in mind that the HTML banner AND the code both rigidly relate and position themselves in relation to the top left corner of your HTML box, as does the X-Y axis tool in the lower right of your BV Workpane. This way, not only will you be able to perfectly align your boxes, but also your banners ... all by using the X-Y axis tool as it relates to that all-important top left corner of your boxes.
It may seem tedious, but it is very helpful to size your HTML boxes to the exact size of the banner code, using the rulers in the BV pane so you can position them much more accurately duirng layout. You will ALWAYS need to go back and use the arrows to move them one click at a time to the precise position you desire, but that is all part of the efforts to make Affiliate Marketing work!

Second issue about your CJ code: hopefully you checked the option to "open in new window" before you generated the code, right? If not, go back and get it.

Do you know how to take you specific affiliate code and use it for text linking, Go Menu, or other link options and still have it open in a new window? If not, find out here in this thread.

I feel kind of dumb asking this but after I have the code in the box and the box positioned in the location where I want it, how do I get it to release the code? What do I have to do to get it to make the banner?

The code itself automatically produces an image, just a specified by the vendor, and you can see it on your Blue Voda page by using PREVIEW before you publish it (that's what "code" does, for it is simply a script that commands preset actions to be performed: there is nothing to be "released" at all. The BV HTML "box" is merely a means to "contain" the script for positioning on the page, based on the stylesheet BV pages are constructed in).

Using PREVIEW is also how you will see how you will need to "fine tune" your positioning of your box so everything presents precisely (as I clearly described in my post above, which also shows you how to use the same source code for text links that will ALSO open in a new browser!).

I understand what you're saying, but I still need to know how to get the code from the box to the page. After I put the box where I want and what do I have to tell it to get the code the box to the page?
I really don't need to know how it works because thats taken care of, I just need to know how to get it from one place to the other.
For me you got to keep it simple.

1) Get into the habit of COPYING from CJ your codes and PASTE them onto a list somewhere, like in Word, so you can easily duplicate them later without having to constantly be logged into CJ panel (which times you out).

2) Create an HTML "box" in BV on the page where it needs to go, and then pre-position and/or size it appropriately.

3) Go back to your 'archived' code, highlight it, COPY it, and then double-click on your HTML box to bring up the dialog: PASTE the code in this area and click OK.

4) Size your HTML box, position it, PREVIEW it (now that your code is pasted, it should be visible on your page where you placed it using PREVIEW prior to publishing) to your hearts' content, and then SAVE your page when satisfied.

5) PUBLISH the page, and move on to the next page or project...

When you close the box where you paste the code.. position the grey element sized and placed where you want it.. bv automatically GETS it to the page when you preview or publish. You dont need to do a thing.

OK I got it! Telling me to preview it was the info I needed. I have a lot of different sites and emails and every one puts HTML in different. I went back and looked at the HTML tutorial and it's still not that clear to me. Thanks for hanging in there with me until I got it.
BTW if I had a dollar for every time I've read the tutorials I could start a bank instead of a website.
