Hi there,
I am trying to create my own templates. I follow all the instructions, but when I need to open the template that I just created they show up as wwb file, and I cannot open them.
Any suggestions

If you are saving it as a template it should automatically be saved as a bvp file. Please tell us the steps you are taking to create and save the template.

Sounds as though you are designing a template in Word? are you ...

You would either need to design your template in a photo program and save as a .jpeg or .gif or design your template in the blue voda web builder by inserting shapes, images, lines, etc. ...

Hope this helps ...

Cool Creating your pages with shapes

Hi there, I have created 8 different pages with shapes, they all look the same, but each page has the same size shape but with different colors.
When I publish them, all the shapes in all the pages they take the color of the last one published.
How can I fix this one?
I am using bluevoda.

The tutorial seemed easy enough but not so when I read all the comments below it.
Hopefully I won't have all the issues. We'll see.

Didnt i read a quote in an SEO book that discouraged the use of templates? I was just curious. Because of that, i kind of made my own templates with shapes and never saved them as templates. Is there any advantage to this?

I am intested in the answer to this question - does it affect SEO when you save templates?

Well that would be a new one! The SE dont READ images or shapes pers se, but do read the alt tags. How templates would affect your SEO would be OLD as most catalogue driven software used templates and dynamic pages. SE are reading dynamic pages more and more and its becoming less and less of an issue, as long as you keep the strings to one or two parameters.

Okay, so you saved your page as "template"

Then you go into your BV web builder and go to FILE, "New Page From Template" ... the folder will open and show the templates you have made, you choose the one, then a popup box will pop up and file name will be empty, you must name that file, then it will open for you to use as your template, then when you add your content, you name and save and publish your page as you like ....

Hi, it might be the bar wants stretching. pop your pointer over the 4 dots at the end of a menu bar, left click/hold & enlarge/stretch.

Using the same exact shape (copying from one page to another or merely changing the page name) which has the same name in two (or more) templates can cause a problem if you change the color but do not change the name.
In my experieince all templates will change colors to match the last changes made.

without the tutorial, the best way is to experiment with the shapes tool. On the top nav bar of blue voda, if you mouse over the icons, you will find the shapes icon. ss the tut is not there, i am sure this is only temporary due to upgrade of blue voda.

Question Re: Creating your own templates with shapes

Not sure if anyone can help me. i am new at this but am not too bad with computer stuff. i have been gently working my way through your tutorials which are very good and simply explained in bite sized pieces.

However one problem the tutorial for creating your own templates does not run on my computer. - all the others are fine. is there a reason for this or is there something i can read.

I am pretty sure I am OK with doing this myuself but just want to make sure before I start doing each individual page.

Thanks for the help - i hope

You will need a Vodahost account to publish a website using Bluevoda.

Hi

I have created a template using lots of square shapes. When I publish my page each square loads individually causing the page to load very slowly. Is there a way of grouping all the elements of a template together so they load as one image rather than each element on their own? I have tried grouping the elements together but it doesn't help.

Thanks
Beth

I m still very new to the whole concept of building a site, and I m still going through the tutorials.. Anyway I just want to know if the ready-made-templates available on the vodahost site, would work perfectly without glitches? since a few folks seem to have had problems with the self-designed-templates.. I ve gone through the ready-made-templates, and I believe they would be very sufficient for any of the pages i might want to build..
cheers folks
