That is called Link Exchange ... not Barter ... which is "conversion of tangible goods or services in lieu of legal tender" --- and against the law across state lines in the US and possibly the on internet as well....

You will get better results using terms properly, and avoid any confusion that may arise as well!

The above remark that says Barter is illegal is incorrect. www.barterbucks.us is part of the largest trading network in the USA. We trade $12 million per month. We are fully regulated by IRS with all members receiving 1099 at the end of the year. Barter is the exchange and a product or service. It is also the oldest form of commerce. :)

Re-read the orignal post carefully, noting that nothing inferred "barter" itself was illegal, but that barter of tangible products (conversion) across State lines and "possibly online" may well be, per US Commercial Code and State Tax Laws (as 1099's are a Personal Income Tax issue, and not a State Tax or Resale issue).

And, since you are in Concord, Debi, why don't you take a short 15 minute drive to San Ramon and let me give you copies of the documentation I already have collected? I'm in Diablo Plaza at Crow Canyon and San Ramon Valley Blvd (next to Safeway).....ALSO...as a non-VodaHost client, posting as you did with inclusion of a non-VodaHosted website constitutes "link-seeding", which is a form of Forum Spamming, a violation of Forum Rules...
