  • Horray, horray...but I still need help

    Hi,

I finally have all of my links working properly....

    BUT

When I created my contact page and inserted a "submit" button....the button is pressed to go nowhere. What do i do with it?..where is it supposed to go?

By the way...having lots of fun here...this program is a great tool! So grateful for all of the help I have been receiving. THANKS!

Be sure your Form Layout is stretched way out underneath the buttons (it will always appear transaparent , so matter if it lays over another element in BV).

Delete the old button, stretch down your Form Layout more, re-insert the Submit button. POOF!
    Should do the trick.

The button is set up that way. It works fine. But when it is pressed, it goes to "cannot display page". The submit button is used to send questions and comments to me. But, how do I receive these questions and comment. Where do they come to so I can read them and answer them.

        NGazzara,
For the whole process to work- you need a form for people to enter data into, a script to process and an e-mail account to receive the info.

I recommend that you use the following tutorial to set up the form and
        script.
        http://netisopen.com/computer/TF001/T001.html

Once you have mastered that- then click here and have a look at makeing a more secure form.

David has also put together an easy instant form and you can download and use. You can find it here:

        Hope that helps some,

              Andy,

I read through your very informative tutorial. I pretty much understand most of it but I am not sure where to type the script. Please advise. ( I have also looked at the video. Unfortunately, the print is not legible and it's difficult to read the instruction).

              Thanks again,
              Nancy

Re: Horray, horray...but I still need help

I would open note pad and copy and paste to it. Then , when you are ready, open the page properties as per the tutorial and paste it in there.

Read through it once and then go step by step and it should be clear.

Paste it where the title is typed in? There is no other place for it.

Re: Horray, horray...but I still need help

Right click on an open spot on the page and and choose

                    "page html"

This will open the box as seen in the tutorial.

                          Hi Andy,

Your instruction are very good. Thank you..
However, I followed them and everthing looks great until I preview. The html language is visible at the top of the page. I copied and pasted it into the "inside body tag" as instructed.
Nothing on the page was highlighted when I chose the html page from the view menu. Did that make a difference. Obviously, I did something wrong.
                          Please help.

                          Thanks again,
                          Nancy

php in preview will appear as text. You have to publish for the script to work without appearing as text in the page.
