    What is Hotlinking?

  • #2
Hotlinking is when another web site owner links directly to one or more of your images or multimedia files and includes it on their web page. Not only is this theft of your intellectual property, you are paying for the bandwidth used by that site, therefore if someone hotlinks your files, they are stealing your bandwidth.

To make your website safe, enable hotlink protection.

I thought it was something useable.

      Thanks, John

hotlinking to your own stuff is perfectly legal and is sometimes considered a shortcut.

Getting back to my original question (Displaying an Image on multiple domains), why can't a page of an addon domain reference a file in the main domain public_html folder (well, my attempts were unsuccessful anyway)?

You can do it in two ways. 1. turn hotlinking off in capnel (This is definitly not a good idea). 2. Just add your subdomain to the list of sites that can access your images. you can do it through cpanel.

Regarding images not showing up, check your image links.

              Hope this helps

Thanks Deepak, that did it. And all without writing more code.
