  • Dolphin Community Builder Script

    Hi,

Is it possible to build a site on Blue Voda using Dolphin Smart community Builder Script and host it on Voda Host. If it is not possible could you recommend who one should use for hosting. We are looking to build a new site on blue voda using oscommerse selling equine products and also an online equine community hence the question about Dolphin.

A link to take a look at the Dolphin script is:

    Many thanks,

If dolphin works on lynux servers with MySQL and PHP (I pretty sure it does) you are good to go.

Thanks for the super quick response.

Would that also mean we could install it through the control panel or just that it can be hosted on Vodahost.

      Thanks,

      Rob

On the same note as the above, does it follow that we can incorporate the script within a website built using Blue voda, such as the new ecommerce site.

        Thanks again,

        Rob

No, the script will have to be uploaded via FTP, which is very easy to do.

Scripts and BlueVoda are two seperate things.

              Re: Dolphin Community Builder Script

              Thanks for your help.

I have just found the technical details for installing and running Dolphin which are:

              Technical Requirements

Dolphin requires at least 7Mb of space and 200K of MySQL DB space for installation. Your host must have any Linux/Unix (RedHat, Debian, FreeBSD, Mandrake, etc.) or Windows OS, Apache Web Server, PHP 4.2.1 and higher (Apache and CGI modules), MySQL 4.1 and higher, ImageMagick (for photos upload) or GD Library as alternative, SendMail or Postfix, Cron (Shell access (SSH) or other access to setting Cron Jobs required). Otherwise we will not be able to install Dolphin properly.

You confirmed the Linux and PHP in your earlier post. Will Vodahost have the other requirements too.

              Many thanks,

              Rob
