  • Creating Templates Tip

I'm sure most of us use this facility but I thought I'd share a little tip!

To create a template with all your menu bars and links so that you dont have to re-create your navigations or readjust the menu bar so that it lines up with similar pages:

    1. Create your first page and make sure you link up all the navs and menu bars.
    2. Save as Template
    3. Then go to "New Page From Template"
    4. Then create your website from the template you created which automatically recreates all the navs and links for you.
    5. Also this will make all your pages uniform so that when you visit a different page it doesnt look out of sync.

here's a curveball to throw at you, maybe you can help me too.

templates are nice, but what if I want to add another page or two (or delete) from my web site? Wouldn't I have to go back to EACH page and edit the nav bar then upload EACH page again?

i'm trying to work with inline frames now so i make one home page with my navbar and then have all the rest of my pages open in an inline frame in the middle of my nav bar page. that's how i combat this 'problem' right now.

          any ideas?

          thx jason

Good point which you're right. I guess thats why I stated that you should make sure you link up all your navs and pages - perhaps hinting that all your pages would have already been created. But I understand your point because we all get to a point where we want to make some changes etc etc...working with iFrames is your best bet. If you need any help with this let me know. Visit one of my sites: website http://www.vickymadelyn.com for an example of using iFrames.
