As a recently admitted Vodaphile, and while I am delighted with the banter on these pages, I fear that as a rank recruit I may be required to perform some sort of onerous kitchen police duty (KP). As a former military type, I will say in advance that I will NOT wash my hands before peeling potatoes, and, in fact, may drop several before they are consigned to the pot. I know Napoleon said "An Army travels on its stomach;" I, however, much prefer buttocks firmly planted on a divan, a tall gin and soda at hand, and the rest of the railroad car listening attentively to my tales of the Khyber Pass.
Hmmmm...or was it Cahuenga Pass? Passo doble? John Dos Passos? Oh, dear…I think my mind slipped out of its socket again.
