    Good Morning Zlat

    Cindy & I both mentioned that we were going to create you your own recipe thread ... so here it is ... fill it up, and us too!!

    A Dish A Day Will Keep The Vodaliens Happy!!!

    I'll start us off with my "famous recipe"!

    Pancakes with mustard, salt & pepper!!! Yummmmmmmmm

    Ok Holly, if you're going to get down and dirty, I'll just have to share my husbands cornflakes with orangejuice poured over instead of milk! Not really a receipe, but just as gross as your mustard pancakes. Told hubby about your famous receipe and he said, "Wow that sounds great!" omg

      Hello Dear LadyEye

      Thanks for idea to create recipe threat maybe some members like put his own recipe to…let fill you with Strawberry Pancake Stack...lol
      It is very hard to by-pass this delicious stack of berry-filled pancakes at
      Brunch time!

      1 cup plain flour
      1 60g egg
      1 egg yolk
      1 ¼ cups skim milk
      3 tablespoons unsalted butter

      For the filling
      2 punnets strawberries (about 500g) hulled
      6 tablespoons strawberry jam
      Finely grated rind and juice of 1 lemon
      2 tablespoons orange juice
      fresh strawberries for decoration

      Cook pancake until golden
      Slide pancake onto greaseproof paper.
      Continue cooking and layering. Keep warm

      Puree strawberries. Hit jam, lemon rind and juice
      In a saucepan Add puree; bring to the boil.
      Remove from heat, add orange juice.

      Preheat oven to 180C Place a pancake on an ovenproof
      Plate Spread with 3 tablespoons strawberry mixture. Add
      Another pancake and spread strawberry mixture.
      Continue the layers. Heat for 12 minutes; cut into wedges

        lol Cindy, "Gross" lmao ... now your hubby is the one with the "taste" lol ... did he break his nose??? lmao

        I'll bet if you try it, you'll like it, and they can't be thick pancakes either, just half thickness ...

        Your recipe is no doubt, much more taste tantalizing than mine, one question though .... does it come in a box, lol, and take only 3 minutes???

            Relax I am so busy this 2 days because renovation in my home painters around me but I must cook because I not like box and 3 minutes cooking. You know LadyEye in my statistic many visitors I receive from Italy and I like prepare for tonight to my Italian friends its call…Easy Italian Fettuccine…You’ll love this quick-to-make pasta dish!

            250g fettuccine pasta
            ½ cup salt-reduced chicken stock
            2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
            ¼ teaspoon crushed dried chillies (optional)
            1 ½ cups shredded fresh basil
            ½ teaspoon black pepper
            ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
            ½ cup coarsely chopped walnuts, toasted

            -Cook the pasta
            -While pasta is cooking, bring the stock to the boil in a medium pan
            Over medium heat add garlic and dried chillies if used. Cook stirring
            2 minutes and remove from heat.
            - Ladle out 1 cup of the pasta cooking water; ad to the stock mixture
            - Drain the pasta in a colander. Place pasta on large serving plater or
            in a large serving bowl. Add the stock mixture, basil and black pepper,
            toss gently until well combined. Sprinkle with Parmesan and walnuts
            and serve immediately.

            Bon appetite…don’t forget glass white vine

            LadyEye...Can it be served with a “hot waiter” with “No Dressing”?...lol
            but I have idea can we open new restaurants just for vodalians where we will
            employ waiters to give own milk in every coffee...lol I hoppe we be have
            new guests...lol

              Hi Zlatko ...

              Well it's always nice to freshen up the home with new paint and renovations. You will be happy when all is done, I am sure ..

              This recipe definitely has my tastebuds alive ... I would love this, and I can only imagine dashing it with my pepper would delight me so.

              Awesome ... I'll bet it is a favorite at your venue for you ....

              A definite treat for all Vodaliens, but why are we having Milk, lol ...

              How about a shot of the good stuff in the coffee or in my case tea!!
              No "Hot Waiter" - I beg to differ, we've just been treated to a wonderful recipe by a Very "Hot Waiter"

              What's for Breakfast tomorrow ... oh, we can wait a day if you like while you finish up with renovations, I'll just keep eating this fetuccine. Yum!! But we'll be "Famished" when you get here!!!!

                  Thanks Zlatko! Sounds great....gotta print this out!!

                  Holly: I prefer that my "Hot Waiter" come with "Dressing" on the side. That way, if I don't like what I see, then I can add the Dressing! lol

                    Now you're talking, Turtle Soup, MMMMMhh It is served here, not in restaurants but my mother-in-law has help that makes alot of indian food and turtle soup is high on the list, really only had it twice, then watched it being prepared and haven't had it since.

                    You're STARVING? No wonder if you havwe things like Mustard pancakes. Oh well maybe I'll try it.

                      omg ... there really and truly is Turtle Soup Choco ... I didn't really realize, was a joke I've known for years, well now you've let me in on a secret ...
                      hmmmm.... don't know if I want to try that ... probably sits as well as my mustard on your pancakes, actually try it, you will like!! I know what you mean about seeing things prepared, changes the taste buds doesn't it.
                      I can't eat anything I've known, I'd never make a farmer or a butcher!!

                        Turtle soup is nice…But forget LedyEye soup today I go in cinema tonight and
                        nothing beats the aroma of homemade popcorn...lol Kate

                        Cinnamon Spiced Popcorn
                        Cook ¾ cup popcorn once cooked keep warm. Meanwhile, melt 75g unsalted
                        butter toss prepared popcorn with melted butter, 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
                        and 3 teaspoon icing sugar mixture serve immediately. Nice movie “The Departed”

                            Mandy for you and baby lighten up “Chicken curry with banana yoghurt”

                            1 cup light coconut milk
                            1/3 cup (80ml) chicken stock
                            1 tablespoon fish sauce
                            2 teaspoons vegetable oil
                            1 tablespoon red curry paste
                            400g chicken breast cut into 2cm cubes
                            1 onion, sliced into wedges
                            150g baby green beans trimmed
                            1 red capsicum, seeds removed and sliced
                            100g snow peas, trimmed, sliced diagonally
                            200g tub Nestle diet banana yogurt, to serve steamed rice, lime
                            wedges and basil leaves, to serve

                            1. Combine coconut milk, stock and fish sauce in a bow. Set aside
                            2. Heat oil in non-stick wok or large frying pan over medium heat
                            Add the curry paste and cook for 1-2 minutes or until fragrant.
                            Increase heat to high, add chicken and cook until slightly golden
                            And coated with paste. Remove and set aside
                            3. Add onion, beans capsicum and snow peas, and cook for 1-2 minutes.
                            Return chicken to the wok and add coconut milk mixture.
                            4. Reduce heat and simmer for 5-6 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
                            Transfer to serving plates and drizzle with banana yoghurt. Serve with rice,
                            lime wedges and basil leaves.

                            Yummmmmmmmmmmmm
