  • Why are my images this big?

I have three images on my site using the new lightbox feature.
The lightbox feature itself works fine, however 2 of the images, when clicked on, open and over fill the IE page, in other words, you can only see a small part of the image and you have to scroll vertical and horizontal to see the rest.
All 3 images have been aquired and put into the site in the same way.
    Can anybody help me please.

Please use the free pix resizer to properly size your images for viewing on the web, you might choose 600 x 800 if you would like close to a full screen, or you might choose 400 x 350 (or so) . Play around and see what size you are looking for ...

Another good place to optimize your images online is here

Keep in mind you need to have your images sized for viewing as well as optimized (reducing the amount of kbs or mbs even, in the photo as well)

Both these tools, work side by side.

I haven't finished it yet so its not online.
I have used pic resizer but the problem is that all 3 images are the same in size but some open larger than others.

rename those images you are having problems with, and try again, perhaps you are grabbing the wrong ones from your files when you insert them ... if you change the name on the reduced images, this should eliminate this ... hopefully ...

Done what you suggested, re named but it still doesn't work. I have re-scanned the image, as I said all 3 images have been aqcuired in the same manner.
            Any more ideas?

Re: Why are my images this big?

If you are using the PIXresizer? It sounds like you have the 100% box tick (which is default). Load 1 of you images into the PIXresizer & then select one of the new sizes above the 100%, but which percentage this is, depends on the image size you started with. Some ware around the 600x400 is not a bad size. Then press save picture & try this on your page. If you can? Try the image in the light box & have a test run. Personally I think if you have to keep scrolling down to click on the x to close it. The image is too large. (But this is just my view)

                Good luck.
                Regards Chris.

Re: Why are my images this big?

How can I use a picture & fax viewer on my site? Because my jpeg images look best in a picture & fax viewer. Also, if I can use a picture & fax viewer, where can I get it, to be used on my site?

                  Thank You,

Re: Why are my images this big?

Hi, I am still waiting on someone to reply to my recent question about using a picture & fax viewer on my site. My visitors to this site must be able to view my image using a picture & fax viewer. How can I make sure that my images on my website can be seen through a picture & fax viewer? I guess what I am asking is how can I go about doing this?

                    Thank You,
                    pammy53
