  • How do I let clients see the progress of their site

    Hi
    my site is www.miscarriage-ni.org.uk
Since I produced the above site using BV I have had requests from friends to build sites for them.
I was wondering if there was some way clients could be shown the progress of their site (other than emailing them screen shots). Also, it would be impractical for them to visit me to see a preview of the site.
In other words, could I send them a preview of their site which they can view on their own PC (they would not have BV installed on their own machine)?

    I hope this is possible.

    Many Thanks

    Kind Regards

Assuming you don't want these sites just hanging out there unfinished, you could publish what you have, at a predetermined time at which your clients could view, and then remove files using ftp when they have had their look.

Or just leave them, and republish updates regularly, allowing them see your progress at their leisure.

    Good luck,

Hi, is there a particular reason that it can’t go live for them to view? If so! you could always pop it in a password protected area & just email the link & password..

        Chris,

Can you elaborate on the password protected area?

As Chris says above, if they want you to build a site for them then surely they need a hosting account with BV? When they get the account, or if you get one on their behalf you will be able to work and publish your site as you go along.

I would strongly advise that you think about finishing YOUR site first though before taking on others.
Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.

                Thanks Chris,

I didn't have an immediate need, but you never know. I have bookmarked for future reference.
