Go into page properties and select center. Voila, it's done for you.

Hi, its quite lightly that the screen resolutions are set differently on one monitor to the other. Have a look under your screens display property's & settings.

As I said, and Chris just repeated - it's NOT the size of the monitor - it's the resolution it's set at. What I said was correct, you are confusing the size of the monitor with the resolution it is set at - which is 2 different things entirely.

Re: Centering the website for all screen formats??

The problem is that when I center the website in say 1200 page width it looks different than in the page width of 1000 resolution looking at the different monitors if you go to my www.vortexairtools.com
you will see I played with different sizes but was not able to find optimum so I looked some scripts but they are all CSS I do not even know how to fit them in BV
If I choose resolution of 800 it will not show it in the center for screens set for 1200 I tried it unless I am expressing my self wrong ( Please excuse my ignorance )

the test1 is 1200 page width
              and http://www.vortexairtools.com/test2.html with 800

Re: Centering the website for all screen formats??

Hi, not quite sure how you are doing things & why you are setting your pages to anything above the widest part of your page if! you are aiming to center it?
I am assuming that you are building all your pages from the far left of your BV screen page.? As the top image & all below in the link below seems to be placed on the page 99px from the left hand side? If this is so? It will never be centered.

For augment sake, on this page http://www.vortexairtools.com has a size of 888px wide.
So the page width should be set at 888px & the center box ticked, this assuming all things that you put on the page started from the far left of your BV page & not 99px in from the left. Before we go any farther, is this page centered on your screen. ???
                Regards Chris.

Re: Centering the website for all screen formats??

Both are centering in the browser just as they should -

If you think that you can make the 1200 width one look the same as an 800 width one in a browser not set at 1200 or above, that can't happen.

Most people will be scrolling at the 1200 width.

Re: Centering the website for all screen formats??

Well I am totally ashamed for asking such I question...
I have never set the perimeters of the page to begin with.
I assumed that BV would somehow recognize the largest element and then center it?
Of course when I started building on the far left and then set the page width
to the largest element ( the header ) it was just a click of the button...
                    Sorry , so sorry...Thanks a bunch,
                    Sinisa

Thank you Chris for pounding the truth in such a refined manner
makes me sick to my stomach just remembering what I asked...
I have a question does anyone know any joomla or osccommerce template management ?
I want to buy an online store but would like to modify the template a bit...
I actually have osc commerce template needs header picture replaced and some links renamed otherwise OK.
I have very limited change requirements in regards to design I would appreciate it?
                        Thanks again
