Is there a Quota on FTP ?

The reason I ask this question is because I have been using voda for awhile now and happerly up loading photos via Shozam. And have loaded 1000's in the past, but now all though I have removed heaps I cannot up load any now! If you would look at the web site www.jannzentertainment.com and navigate to "photo gallery" then choose in the photo dropdown "Rosie O'Grady's Mt 08 08 08" ----this is what I get now, sometimes I get the photos but they are distorted. I have used two different Shozam programes on two different computers with the same result.
There was a time that I thought that unloading some photos allowed me to load some more, but this is'nt doing it any more
I have 5 web sites here should I be using their FTPs?
Also I cant find these other web sites on Blue Ftp.

Youre losing packets on your isp connection.. and it times out .. causing the distortion.

Upload smaller amounts at a time, split the upload into groups. Contact your isp to see if you need a special password or special instructions when ftping.. they may have flagged you or thought you were spamming, or thought you became infected so they closed you off.

Your hosting here wouldnt have a thing to do with uploading to a different server, nor would they shut you down unless... you kept disconnecting and reconnecting to your server. .they may have seen it as an attack as well.. again.. that happens when your isp is disconnecting or timing out.

The upload seems to go normally, would I notice this shut down? Any way much apreciate your time , I will try and upload smaller lots and see how I get on!

You would notice if the ftp tool you used showed you the progress..and if there were timeouts etc..and it would show it reconnecting and giving the passwords etc again...

Hi Karen I have just tried to publish 21 photos but it's doin the same thing!
In reply to your last message this Shozam programe just drops out if any thing happens to the connection.

Have you any other ideas?
As I said first time, when this first started I thought unloading heaps of photos seemed to help, ie when I unloaded say 200 photos then I could load maybe 100, but I am now not sure what is happening.
This worked so well in the past!

I dont know what shazam or shozam is.. i use cute ftp, filezilla (which is free) or wsftp, you could also use blue ftp which is included in blue voda..

You could try using your file manager.. and if all goes well ..then u know its the program.. if you have issues with file manager in control panel or blue ftp.. put in a support ticket as the firewall might be blocking your lil proggie there...and they listed your ip

You could ask your isp to reset your ip if you dont know how to do it yourself

I don't know what shozam is either, so this may not be helpful -

but do you upload your photos in a zipped file?

I've used ftp for a few different programs, such as WordPress, Joomla etc - and was finding it very slow & timing out - and bits were missing that I had to go back and upload separately.

Now I ftp the zipped file and unpack it in Cpanel. It's quick & complete.

Hi Sunchaser this method you use sounds interesting. Do you up load the zip file then put them into a gallery? I'd like to know more... how many photos can you zip ?

Neville .. Yes.. thats what i was getting at.. Its the program.. or perhaps your isp service. Some have a tendency to restrict bandwidth at peak usage times..

NO ONE EVER SAID THERE WAS A SERVER LIMIT. What i said was.. the firewall blocking because of repeated sign in attempts.
