  • Downloading time

Hi,my website is www.africapaintsgroup.co.za. I know I have a lot of pictures and it will take longer to download. I want to know if there is a way to improve downloading time. I used pix resizer to make my pictures smaller. Does the page size make a difference?

    Thanks
    Marlize

    Re: Downloading time

It's all about the file size, not the actual size. Pixresizer helps to reduce file size.

So the page size wouldn't make a difference? Any other suggestions?

        Re: Downloading time

Hi, its an accumulation of all the files on a page that will slow things down. One item you have on the page is the 5 paint brushes on the right adds up to around 600kb. If you place 1 paint brush image in a background of a table set to repeat, this would be brought down to 118kb in total.

            Re: Downloading time

Pix resizer DOES reduce file size on jpegs, if you know how. Next to the JPEG button is a bar that says "Joint Photographic Experts Group." You can click on that after clicking on the JPEG button to bring up a file size reducer. It's a slider, so you'll want to experiment a bit.

Hi, in BV click on the table button & set the fields to 1,1,0,0,0 & press OK. Now right click on the table & select cell properties. Enter your image in the image field & select repeat in vertical direction from the repeat drop down. Press OK & then pull your table box out to the size you need.

                  Good luck.
                  Regards Chris.
