  • advice for add on domain

    Helloooo!
i currently have a website www.salsamundolatino.co.uk and have now added a new domain name www.salsamba.co.uk -the new name is registerd with another company.
I know i need to add vodahost dns address etc ( or whatever you call them ) to the company that holds the name for salsamba but do i input the same address what i have for salsamundolatino?
Secondly-when building salsamba'a website in vodahost, and i create the index page-how do i do this?
obviously salsamundolatino has its own index page so how do i make sure salsamba's index page does not get mixed up with this?
Sorry if i sound a little thick but i'mnot too computer minded!!

Yes.. you point it to the same server.

First go create the ADDON domain in cpanel.

Now create a new folder on your hard drive in the bv folder for the new domain. Create your index page just like you did the other one but SAVE to this folder so it doesnt overwrite your other site.

When you publish make sure to change the PATH to the new folder
    Public_html/newdomain

i am doing the same as above. when publishing: Public_html/newdomain
where you put newdomain do i put the name of the folder or the actual domain name?

and if its just the folder name, when i publish it how dose it know what domain name to register it to, how dose it link the folder to the new domain? and not over wright my current site?

sorry for all the questions just that bit was confusing me?

You enter the new domain name, then you would publish all your pages to that domain (starting with index, just as you did for your first site)

folder, domain.. its the same in this instance.. and youve already told it what to do in the cpanel when you created it. The important thing is that your index file goes inside this folder.

Don't you mean you created a new folder in your c-panel? Not BV, See video on adding a add-on domain. If you do mean your c-panel then if you named your folder with a capital "S" you have to have it in the file path as well, public_html/Salsamba
