  • .html?

why don't i see .html in my url. i've been saving every page as index.bvp and published to my folders in control panel. it's working ok, but do actually need .html extensions?

    Re: .html?

NO they dont need html extensions when you save them. When bv loads them to the server .. they convert to html.

You didnt put a link to your site so i cant tell you why they dont show as html...unless you are not using VODA HOST as your hosting company. BV will only work on voda hosting

      Re: .html?

www.gadgetonlineshop.com , but.. when i try to save my pages to the page content, like laptops and save it as laptops.bvp and then publish it, it's not working. in this case every page has to be published as index.bvp. i was just wondering that is .html better to find in search engines. i think it is, as i read it in google webmaster.

        Re: .html?

Hi, as per previous post, save your page as a name only. BV will auto add the .bvp extension & when you publish auto convert it to html for use on a VH server.
Are you also sure that your cache has been cleared & that you are not viewing an old page from your computers cache?

          Re: .html?

You need to LINK to your page as laptops.html in your navigation, if thats what you are doing. As i said before .. the server will publish it as laptops.html

I see your page.. you are publishing EACH to a new folder

thats why you are using the INDEX name which isnt technically the correct way to be doing things. You should only NEED one index file

          you should be linking as
          www.gadgetonlineshop.com/laptops.html
You dont need all those extra folders

              Re: .html?

I agree with Karen what you are doing is not is in the regular scheme of how you most webmasters be doing it...

Why do you publish each page in a subfolder?

if you want the top level search engines to best crawl your site this is NOT the way...

if you MUST publish every page separate!

I suggest using subdomains versus folders... This is better for SE crawling..

I dont need you to run around behind me and agree with anything! Subdomains has NOTHING to do with what hes doing.

                    Re: .html?

You save your page as laptops (nothing else) an publish it to your public_html (as you do for your index page) it will be in that folder along with your index. It won't be hard to find as it will have a html extension. Your just making everything too complicated and your file paths longer than they need to be.

Yes.. you put them ALL in public html. They each have their own names.
