  • Missing images on published pages

    Here is my website:
    www.greatplainsai.org

If you click on the following pages, some of the page headings (in script font) are incorrect:
    -Chapter officers
    -Class schedule
    -Chapter directory
    -Links
    -Contact us

I deleted and republished. I followed directions for Browser Caching, hitting F5, then running cCleaner. Now I've looked at the FTP Manager and discovered missing files.

I had selected to publish each text heading as an image (.GIF) under Properties, but some of those title images aren't in public_html.

Can someone please advise me what to do next?
(yes, the unpublished pages all have the correct headings.)

    Thank you for your patience.

Then that's even more messed up than I thought. The script font is AL Sandra. I'm still hoping someone can help me. Why wouldn't a page publish to look the same as it does in bvp?

Re: Missing images on published pages

If its not a web friendly font, and its NOT on my computer, the browser will render it to one that is web friendly. Specifically tell me what you think is NOT there.. which heading..because i see them all and NONE of them are scripts.

Re: Missing images on published pages

I didn't expect anyone else to have the font, which is why I chose to publish the text as a GIF image. Am I missing something there? Isn't that why there's an option?

Here's a homepage screenshot. "Welcome" is in script.

Here's the Chapter Members page, with "Chapter members" in script:

Here's the Links page but instead of "Links" in script, it says "Chapter members."

My Chapter Officers, Class Schedule, and Contact Us pages all say "Chapter members" as well.

I appreciate your help, Karen. I'm wondering if I would have better luck creating the text images in photoshop and inserting them. Perhaps any copy, pasting and editing text I did with the script titles caused this? Anyway, I'm off to bed for now. Again, thanks.

I think it is because you are using a template or a cloned page as template
without changing the Title of the page in properties.

Re: Missing images on published pages

Yes, I designed the page, then cloned it and changed text for subsequent pages. Being new, I didn't realize that would be a problem.

I finally worked around it, creating new images in photoshop and inserting them in place of the text. Not really sure what I learned from this, other than I have a lot to learn!

Re: Missing images on published pages

If you cloned the pages that is good, the problem is that some of the fonts in the builder or on your computer are not "user friendly" meaning they are universally recognized. You did the best thing by creating them in Photoshop the adding them to the page, now they will be seen as you entended by any and everyone. To learn about web frriendly fonts google them and you will find a list. I have not had any luck with converting them to gifs either they look terrible and went the route you did. So what did we learn? not all fonts are good fonts.
