  • Publishing pdf files with Plug-In Problems

I am trying to publish some pdf files using plug-In. Some of them work just fine. Some are very slow publishing, and one particular file I have been trying to publish for several hours. It will get about a third of the way done (According to the blue bar) and then it will just stop. I tried leaving it run for a half hour or more at this point, but no more movement. Then I get "program not responding" and I have to start over again. Any suggestions? David

Re: Publishing pdf files with Plug-In Problems

With PDF Files I would be inclined to transfer to them to the server via the FTP.

The link to this pdf would be something like this.

If you want it to display it within a page template, use an I Frame.

I did see a good thread here recently that also covered this topic. I'll see if I can find it.

The other thing to consider is the size of the pdf file, from a visitors point of view. If its lots of megabytes, visitor might not be happy to wait for download unless you make a reference to it. If the pfd file is just one page, shouldn't be a problem but if it's a 100 page book then that's different.
