Added Folder- now problems

I added a folders on my public_html. One was for a "Family" uploaded Jalbum file and it worked fine. I added a second folder "Private" uploaded a Jalbum file and PROBLEMS!!!! When I typed in mywebsite.com/private it could not find the page. BUT I typed in mywebsite.com the album shows up instead of the website.


What did I do??????

because it didnt load to the private folder...trailing slash is need..

mywebsite.com/private/
