  • Text problem between Vista and XP

Is this a normal problem. I made a page and used one of the more obscure fonts in the Blue Voda drop down list. It was actually a heading located in a shape box at the top of my page. I published it (I have Vista) and asked my daughter to check it on her computer (she runs on XP) and the last word of the heading had moved outside the box on to a second line. I tried making the text box bigger still the same. What we eventually worked out was that her vista did not support the font that I had used from the BV list and it changed it I would think to what it thought was similar but it went to the second line. I changed the header to Verdana and it worked fine all on one line.

My question is do I have to stick to universal fonts and not use the more obscure ones. Would someone on windows 2000 or even 98 have similar problems.

    thanks

Hi, always best to stick to web safe fonts. Or an alternative is to use the BV facility of turning the text into an image.
