  • INDEX.PHP Needs to be the Homepage and Not INDEX.HTML

    My website is www.resitewars.com

    Which is basically www.resitewars.com/index.html

But I want www.resitewars.com./index.php to be my home page!

How come the ".html" is taking priority over the ".php"

When My members go to www.resitewars.com I want the .php version to come up.

Open your php version in blue voda. Click on the background to bring up the page properties window. In the file extension box change to php.

    Publish as index (no extension).

Now the important part: Open FTP Manager (under Tools) and delete the "index.html" from your public_html folder. That will leave just the php version and you're good to go.

Remember that once you save your index page, it will overwrite the old index page on your hard drive, so you may want to save the old page as "indexold" or something in case you ever want to go back to it.

          Publish as index (no extension).
Wait, what do you mean by that?

Re: INDEX.PHP Needs to be the Homepage and Not INDEX.HTML

If you change the extension to .php in the page properties window, BV will automatically add the .php extension to your page. You publish (via the usual publish icon) your page as index and it will show up on the server as index.php automatically. That's why it's important to delete the index.html off the server, otherwise people going to your page will still get the html version by default.

Okay I changed the page ext. to "php" in page properties. I went to the FTP thing under tools and deleted everything with index, except my index.bvp..I then published the page again... it got rid of the old design, but the index.htmkl still showing but I know I got rid of it.

You have to login to your HOSTING account, cpanel, file manager,public_html and delete the index page there.
