  • Do I have to have a menu bar?

    Hello,

I have made some pages for my site which I am really happy with BUT I have used just words instead of an actual menu bar for my links so I could have more control over how they looked. I thought I could link these individual words and it would work the same as having a menu.... when I try to link them though with the globe and chain icon, whatever I type in and click 'ok' is gone next time I open it again.

Am I doing it all wrong completely?? Is it possible to do it this way?

Another quickie... Is it possible to somehow publish the site so only you guys can see it? It is in no way ready for public viewing but it's hard to explain what I mean without showing you!

    Thank you for any help,

    Sally

No.. you dont have to have a menu bar. Text links are fine.

Are you hilighting the text before you click the link chain?

          Err...no!!!

Ok, I've done the link (Thank you!!!) Now it's an ugly blue colour and underlined...Can I change that?

I tried highlighting it again and right clicking and selecting new colours and not to have it underlined but this isn't changing...

          Sorry!! I'm getting there though!!

Yes.. right click on the page.. properties and click those tabs.. there you can change your links, underlines and scroll bars etc

Re: Do I have to have a menu bar?

I am SO sorry.... am I right clicking on white space on the site?? There is page properties but I still couldn't see how to change the link colour and underlining.. although under Backgrounds there, there was something about link colours but I tried it and nothing happened.

Is this getting tedious yet?? Please spell it out to me!!! Sorry...

Re: Do I have to have a menu bar?

go to the words you would like to create link for>>highlight them>>right click>>link>>add link url>>target (self)>>edit styles>>add>>now click on the various links for formatting and change: underline or not and various link style colours.>>OK>>OK and select your new link style.

If you had left the background alone it would have been transparent. Only change colour and leave background.
