  • website disappearance

My website has been up and running 4 some months. I have made no new changes. The other day I posted a question and was told by Karen (moderator) to erase the questionable files/dir.

I have since then noticed by chance, that my entire website, all that is graphic has disappeared. I do not know if this is related to this deletion, but as I have already said, I have made no changes.

    Why did this happen?

Can I undo or fix this? How?

    Re: website disappearance

Sounds like you deleted a directory with your images in it, from your server. Did you delete them from your hard drive as well? If not, find them and use the Image tool to replace them on your page(s). Your original images will have whatever name you gave them, the images BV saves to your hard drive will have names like bv01002.png.

On the other hand, if they are still on the server but not on the hard drive you can download them and start again.

      Re: website disappearance

Hi Tom, As mentioned in my previous post the directory which I deleted was located in the public_html directory and not in that of my sub-domain, also it only contained one file named jxo.php. Aside from this all the images are on the server.
      Any other ideas?

Well.. Karen wouldnt have anything to do with your site disappearing.

I suggest that you put in a support ticket to see if there are some HIDDEN files you arent seeing that may be suspicious. Have them scan it.

To scan your account. You may have hidden files that you arent seeing.

Also.. Check to see if you have enabled hotlinks in your cpanel ...
