I want to make some changes to my php pages in Bluevoda, but since I installed vesion 11 my php pages will not open. A box comes up that says unexpected file format. What is the solution to this problem?

Its because you saved them as whatever.php instead of whatever.bvp

Try opening it with an older version of bv and saving it correctly.

The pages are saved in Bluevoda .bvp and worked perfectly until I upgraded to Bluevoda 11. Could you tell me should I remove bluevoda 11 and then try to download another older version? Will I lose any of my work?

No.. You wont lose any of your work. There are still some bugs in bv 11. You might look.. I bet bv 10 is still on your computer.. look in c:/program files.. bv 10.. Just right click on the bv icon and send to desktop as a shortcut

            Re: php unexpected file format

I have more or less the same problem except that:

I have had to revert back to BV 10 and now the files that were saved in BV11 do not open and produce this error or copletely lock up the program.

Does BV11 save in a different format?

Is there a way as with MS office to save in a previous version format?

              Re: php unexpected file format

BV 11 has additional features, so a file created by it must be opened by it, an older file saved in BV 11 will become a BV 11 file.

When installing BV 11, it's OK to rename the folder to which you install it. That way, it won't overwrite BV 10 and you can stick with BV 10 and experiment with BV 11. BV 11 will automatically find your page files without being told where to look for them (my experience, anyway).

It's a good idea, when upgrading any software, to wait a few weeks for the "bug fallout" to be discovered and resolved by OTHER people. That's what I did when going from BV 9 to BV 10 and am now doing it with BV 11.

I take it that means that there is no Save As BV10 compatible or BV 5-10 compatible?

                  Re: php unexpected file format

I suggest during the BV 11 "trial" period, before downloading
and working with BV 11, you save the files under BV 10 that you
have created in a separate directory like "ArchiveBV10" on your hard disk or a flash drive.

So when something goes wrong, you can switch to BV 10, you can bring back the files from "ArchiveBV10" over to the "working" directory.
