  • PHP code in HTML files

Is it possible to process PHP code in the HTML files (i.e. files with the .html extension) on your servers ?

Do I need any special instructions?

Define specifically the application you are attempting, and the type of foundation (website...as in Blue Voda, Dreamweaver/HTML, scripted as a forum/cart/WP, etc.).

You can do this ONLY if you create a .htaccess file that will "tell" the server to process files that have the .html as .php files.

If this is a requirement by the company you purchased the script from, or by your programmer, he will certainly know how to create such a .htaccess file.

However I don't understand the purpose for this, why shouldn't your pages have the .php extension ?

My new shopping cart is AJAX based. The php company provides coding that will enable my store to be indexed. I have asked them to install this for me as it is beyond my ability.

Hopefully the information you have provided here will give them the necessary guidance. Thank you.
