Yesterday I finally published my site-no problem.
I saved my username and password and was able to do all my updates and corrections etc.

Today I was trying to continue uploading my images and links. and I couldn't even connect to blueftp even though I had saved my user id and password as well as the server ip.

Then I read in one of the threads that I needed to update my Blue Voda, so I did but now I can't even open Blue voda..

Please provide more info. What's the problem ? Is there some error message when you try opening BV ?

Regarding BlueFTP, simply type again your username/password and select your IP address to see if you can connect.
