sub domain

It's been quite a while since I have added a sub domain. I have just purchased a new sub domain. Where is the tutorial to help me to complete the process in order for the sub domain to be online?

My friend has "misplaced" her welcome email with the DNS #'s. I will ask her to submit a support ticket.
