is it easy to build something on my site that would allow me to publish music on it, and others to be able to download from it???

You can simply upload the files on your site and create links to the files, in your pages. However you do not explain what you want to accomplish. If you are going to sell these music files, you need a shopping cart script, with an option for electronic (download) delivery.
If on the other hand you simply want your visitors to be able to listen to the music on your site, insert a Windows Media Player in your page, from the left hand top toolbar in BV

little more info. no, they wont be for sale, the site is a football site and the music is football related, so really for other supporters to download. also, i know how to set up for them to listen too, but really, just for them to download from the site to their pc's if they wish.

If you upload the file on your site and create a link to it, your friens should be able to download it. The problem is that a file that can be opened with Window Media or Real Player or any other player, will automatically run in that program, without prompting for saving. Your solution could be to upload the file in a zip format, so they click on the link, they download the zip, and extract the file form the zip on their own computer.
