I've been going through the phpbb Forum tutorials without any major problems to set up my forum. Then when I came to click on word censors, I got the following error message:

Template->make_filename(): Error - file admin/words_list_body.tpl does not exist

I'm no expert but does this mean a folder/file is missing. If so how do I remedy the problem. Every other menu has been fine. Plus I have tried it twice now think a reboot might sort it out, but after taking a break and shutting down my computer for a few hours I have just logged back in and it has happened again.

Please help, as I don't want people having freedom of speech on my forum!!

How did you install install it? via fantastico?

Yeah, through fantastico on the cPanel.

Uninstall it (THROUGH fANTASTICO) and install again.

So go to fantastico > phpbb and 'remove'

This won't delete the work I have already done on the forum will it?

Yes, it will delete your work
I beleive your other option is to download phpBB from their site, and manually upload the missing files.

Maybe Racefan20 who has worked with phpBB for a long time, will be able to help you.

I don't really want to lose the stuff i've already done if possible. There are a couple of other missing files as well as I checked them all.

Under 'General Admin', 'word censors' is missing

and under 'User Admin', 'Ban Control', 'Management' and 'permissions' are also showing the same message.

There must be away to pick out these files and reinstall them without deleting what i've already done.

Go to fantastico download another phpbb name it something like testforum. then when done open ftp manager and connect find the folder testforum now look for all the file you are missing then copy them back down to a folder on your computer , when have done this open your first forum and copy the missing file back to there rightfull place. i must stress only do this if you have not add any mods or hack to your forum. if you have any skins installed these should not be efected as you should allready have that folder on your computer.

I have done this and it appears as though I wasn't missing any files.

So I have looked into it and it is related to the template I have imported. I have brought in Aphrodite Green instead of subSilver the default one so to match the colours of my site better.

If I go to configuration and change it back to subSilver, everything is there as normal. Would it be ok to fully set up the forum in subSilver and then make the change to Aphrodite once I have set it up, or may this cause problems down the line if it isn't resolved now?

Don't worry problem solved

As I was writing my last reply the penny dropped.

I checked FTP and for some reason or other not all the Aphrodite template files copied across, so I just copied the ones that were missing and were back on the tracks again

as long as you don't add any modifications to your forums core files you will be ok. if you uploaded the skin to your templates folder check that all the files got uploaded. some times some files do not get moved. look in templates/Aphrodite_Green/admin/ and see if the words_list_body.tpl is there. or the same with subSilver/admin/
