Thread: Thank You page not coming up

my health and weight-loss website is flabfallsoff.com and hosted thru voda ;)

It's been a real laborious process getting all the fiddly things right, but i'm almost there - woopeee! However, there's one more issue that isnt working, but i'm hoping it should be relatively easy to sort out..

The Clickbank purchase page loads fine from my site (in Preview, I havent published yet obviously). I can buy my product fine (ie as a Test, for $0) and Clickbank's Purchase Approval page all comes up fine. BUT, then when it needs to go to MY Thank You page, it comes up with Error 404 Not Found.

This might be tied in with my conversation (via email) with the Clickbank support desk. I said my Thank You page URL was http://www.flabfallsoff.com/Thank_YouPage.html - they said that wasnt a valid address (well, to be fair, initially I left off the .html because I wasnt sure if i needed to put it in - i'm a newbie, okay? :) - but I DID query this - and was told I must sort out my own URL's etc. Not much help!

Then in relooking at the tutorials, I saw that all URL's must be in lower case, so I changed the above to domain.com/thank_you.html . Clickbank accepts this when you submit it electronically, but the error page keeps on coming up.

Any ideas as to how to sort this out? Pse explain simply, tks.

The return page from cb should be exactly as you have named your thankyou page.

Please check both.........

I have as usual gone over and over this but can't find the fault. When you say the “return page” from CB should be exactly the same name as my Thank You page do you mean the Payment Approval page, on which is the button/link to my Thank You page? Given that, this is what I know:

*my files in my BV Website Builder are: index.bvp and thank_you.bvp. Despite going over the How to name pages tutorial in BV again, I can't see where they would be named? As in domain.com/something.hmtl?

*I have even put the ‘title’ of my Thank You page as thank_you to see if this would help

*when I mouseover on the CB Payment Approval page, in doing a test purchase, the mouse says: domain.com/thank_you.html?cbreceipt=TEST4217. So it would seem to be reading the URL correctly?

*the URL in CB reads:
http://www.flabfallsoff.com/thank_you.html and, as I say, they accept my Thank You page no problem. But then there’s a glitch somewhere, I can't figure it out.

CB says I must refer to BV to sort this out… so … please let’s do it J

I just went to your http://www.flabfallsoff.com/thank_you.html
and got a page not found message, so I guess that its in another folder, right ?
If that so, then you need to put the whole url at clickbank......

Quick lesson:

Your website(public folder) url is:
http://www.flabfallsoff.com
your other pages(public folder will be:
http://www.flabfallsoff.com/thank_you.html

A subfolder in your public folder:
http://www.flabfallsoff.com/subname/thank_you.html

and url´s are all normally in lowercase.............

Tks for your help and insights. The subfolder idea would make sense if there was one, but I don’t see how there is one? As I say, I only have the two pages created in BV – I see no other pages at all.

Whereas how we solved the PDF file thing, was me describing what I had in the remote files section of the FTP manager.

But there don’t seem to be any other pages except the two. No subfolders, no nothing. Perhaps if you went to the URL www.flabfallsoff.com and looked at that? Would that shed any light on the subject?

I think I’ve asked this before but I’ll ask again – is this because I am only Previewing the pages and haven’t published them yet? Don’t think so but it’s worth mentioning I guess ;)
