Hi,

Thats a hard one to answer.......as loading times depend on many different things.
i.e. browser used, type of internet connection, servers, time of access, etc
If you aim for a loading time of between 1 and 2 seconds, you wont go far wrong.
I think that if your index/home page loads fast and contains sufficient good content relevant to the search, then people will not mind to much if it takes a liitle bit longer for the rest of your pages.
Hi David,
Yes, that makes sense: I managed to keep my home page to 61kb (minimalist web site did I hear you say!). I once heard someone say that when she was being taught website design at college that the longest anyone with a broadband connection was prepared to wait for an index page to load averaged 8 seconds. We do not have time on our side.
Regards,
James.
One of my index pages is much larger than your 61kb and I still get over 150 hits a day.
I use WiFi, so I am used to waiting up to 5 or six seconds, any more than that, then I am off somewhere else...................
