Hi Sandra

I' m not sure if you are using the new guestbook in BV9 or the one in fantastico ...

If BV 9 here is a link to the thread with the instructions regarding the use of the guestbook ... but in any case you would need to go into the admin panel of your guestbook to make a password change.

Hope you can get this sorted.

Yes, I'm using the BV9 Guestbook. What I've found is that there is NO SECURITY in the Admin link, as anything you put into the password field gives you access to be able to delete entries, etc.

This means that anyone can go into your http://www.mydomainname.com/guestbook.php?admin=login type anything in the password field, and mess around with your guestbook pages.

Please, there must be some protection against this!

Thanks,
Sandra

The person who set up my website (www.strollersrockandroll.co.uk)changed the guestbook admin password so I could get access but neither password now works (possibly the new one was mistyped). I think the guestbook is called Viper and Vodahost customer support say there is no way to reset the password. Please help.

Thanks,

Paul.

Talking Re: Guestbook admin password

For a fee (usually $30), VodaHost may be able to run a script to retrieve/reset the password .... send in a ticket to ask specifically first, so they are prepared to deal with the task.
They can do it for shopping cart and CMS scripts, so WordPress should not be a challenge.
