Once a website has been built and published, is there a way of previewing it before it goes online for everyone else to see, just to check if everything is working? With some things, such as page transitions, I have no idea what these titles do until I see them online and mess about with them. xxx          |

Yes..BlueVoda has a preview button in the top tool bar. It is the one with the magnifying glass.
